NeciKen

Formed in 2017, acoustic folk/pop duo NeciKen from Taipei, aims to create a soothing and uplifting atmosphere through their heartfelt songwriting. The duo consists of singer Neci and singer/guitarist Ken, who met in college and quickly found their musical synergy.

Their debut single, Fireworks, released in 2017, propelled them to fame in Taiwan. The melancholic ballad received numerous accolades on the StreetVoice platform and garnered over 400,000 streams. This success led to increased demand for their live performances and debut album.

As of 2021, the duo released their highly anticipated full album, titled A Place I Don't Belong to. The album focuses on the theme of companionship, which resonated during the isolating times of the global pandemic. Following its release, the album achieved widespread acclaim from music critics as the best work of the year.  Once the pandemic subsided, the band organized a series of concerts across the northern, central, and southern regions of Taiwan, drawing in thousands of attendees at each show. Both the Taipei and Taichung concerts achieved sold-out success.  In the latter half of 2023, there are plans for a collaborative between NeciKen and the Japanese pop duo UNIDOTS.

After establishing their presence in their local music scene, Neci Ken is now prepared to expand their contemporary yet traditional style of folk/pop music to unfamiliar territories. They aim to broaden their audience and connect with a wider audience.
